Beatty Primary School

I met up with my primary school friends recently. Haven’t seen them for a few years as we only gather when this guy, the organizer, comes back from Australia. He’s my oldest friend in the group cuz I knew him in primary 1 and we played soccer etc together. I was the 2nd tallest girl in class and he the 1st boy in the line, so were quite “close”.

The irony is those in Spore don’t actually have everyone’s number… and one of them stays only a few blocks away and works near where I work.

Anyway, here’re the photos we took (the one with an eye problem is my oldest friend and in white, my neighbour). Unfortunately, I don’t have our primary school photos. This cock-eyed guy borrowed them from me and lost them.
Thank goodness someone invented the digicam! Anyway, Beatty Primary School closed down soon after we graduated.

Safety First

Recently, I have been invited to join the company’s safety committee but tried to turn it down cuz I’m not safety conscious. I can’t even take care of myself. Anyway, the decision’s not final, just like the many other decisions in the company, my company.

Then, on another occasion, the admin manager put my name down as one of the fire wardens. Trust me, I’ll be the first to disappear and evacuate in case of a fire. My own safety first.

In conclusion, I’m still a good choice if life is really that positive: my colleagues would be much safer should I be on the safety committee, cuz they would have no choice but to take their personal safety more seriously than before.

The Little Museum

Most museums, if not all, are open to the public for free on statutory holidays. Like all kiasu Singaporeans, I grabbed any freebie that comes along. And so, me and my family were at the Peranakan Museum (the former ACM) on 1 Jan, together with my fellow countrymen who were oblivious to their playful, crying and yelling kids. The security guards were smiling at them. And why the Peranakan Museum? It’s all thanks to the mediacorp channel 8 drama “The Little Nyonya”. My mom couldn’t stop telling us what she thought of the story and who that nyonya should marry. Thank goodness, the drama’s coming to an end. Here’re some photos of the exhibition, things you don’t see in the drama, but my sis said the baba house in Malacca has much more to offer. I missed out on that when I went Malacca, cuz I was drawn to the malls. But never mind, I had ice kachang.

So I guess if channel 8 has a “the little Eurasian” coming up next, we’ll be visiting the Eurasian Association across the Nathan’s house.
